i hate internal leaks on master cylinders. pain to figure out cause you replace everyting else first. had to do a few on trucks

Damn...
Looks like a new Aisin master cylinder should be around $90 -ish. Maybe give Cruiser Outfitters a shout about the booster? He’s in your ‘hood.

pisses me off because its a new master cylinder, and its not a knockoff or rebuild, its a brand new aisin. New one coming.

When I got my ‘61 ford, it came with a new-in-the-box brake master cylinder. I bled all the brakes when I got it and thought, hey, the brakes work fine! But slowly, I realized why the part was included with the truck. That’ll be going in this spring before I drive it much.

Both parts on on the way, a new Aisin MS (the leaking one I have now is a new Aisin) and a new OE booster. The booster is $350. I could get a reman but those are about $300. No help there.

Im not doing the bleedin’, but the guy I take it to has an fzj80 for his daily and used to have an HJ61 high roof. They do a lot of cruiser work, I can only hope they know what does in there. My experience with them tells me that they do.

Is this like in the case of catastrophic engine failure type plans?
![]() 03/17/2017 at 13:58 |

yea that sucks. at least it should be good now right?
![]() 03/17/2017 at 13:59 |

maybe. It sure would be fun to be the first to do it. from a technical perspective, there is no reason it shouldn’t work. It would take someone a lot more clever than me to do the wiring, but those people can be found.

All it takes is money and time.

He should sell the cruiser for 2GZ money.
